How to Get Unpopular Legislation Passed (Jonathan Gruber)

Jonathan Gruber, one of the main architects of the Affordable Care Act (i.e. ObamaCare) let us know this week how to get unpopular legislation passed.

What's being called the latest scandal on Capitol Hill has the American people outraged. Republicans are calling for hearings to begin to investigate further and Democrats are quickly distancing themselves from Jonathan Gruber including the White House where he's visited many many times as he was a key component in the Affordable Care Act.

Here's the video that prompted the controversy:

To sum it up, the lack of transparency and the stupidity of the American people were critical in getting the legislation passed... among other things.

Not long after this went viral and attempts to delete the incriminating evidence from the Internet, Jonathan Gruber defended his remarks as "off the cuff" and "regrets" saying it. Sounds more like he regrets that it was recorded and didn't realize his off the cuff remarks would really mean anything. Probably because he really does think the American people are stupid.

Over the next day or so, this "scandal" began to die down a little bit and it seemed people were accepting his excuse... that's if you're gullible enough. Yah, one incident, one "off the cuff" remark could be dismissed... then today another video at a different event, a different day shows Jonathan Gruber again saying essentially the same thing referring to passing ObamaCare:

One time, okay. But two? I can't help but think of the Bible scripture from 1 Corinthians 13:1:

"...In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established."
We've been lied to. They banked on the "stupidity of the American people" to get this legislation passed, which hasn't done anything the said it would do. If they did it back then, I bet they're continue to do it today. What do you think?

Republicans Win the Senate by Democrat's Design

As the results keep coming in from the 2014 mid-term elections republicans nationwide are celebrating as they have successfully taken control of the Senate....

....but little do they know that their win was due to the democrat's design and is exactly what they wanted.

It seems to me that leading up to the election there wasn't a lot of push from democrats in "campaigning" like we've seen in the past.

This could be due to a couple of reasons:

  1. Democrats realized there was no hope
  2. Democrats wanted Republican control
Both options are feasible and let me share my opinion why... Have you seen the polls lately? The American people are not satisfied where this country is heading and feel they are no better off than they were six years ago when President Obama was elected and Democrats controlled both the House and Senate.

As a result, the policies that they pushed through have been an Obamanation, I mean, an abomination and haven't done the things they said. The biggest policy of turning our heathcare over to the government. As a result of these failed policies, the people have spoken and giving the opportunity to Republicans to make it right.

But what if the Democrats laid back on purpose and let the Republicans take control? What would that mean? Why would they do such a thing?

In my opinion this will give Democrats, the President, the new Democratic contender for President and the media to blame everything from here on out on Republicans so when the next elections come around in 2016 the people will vote to put Dems back in charge of the House and Senate, get another President and repeat the process of pushing through any legislation regardless of the impact.
