"Once again the eyes of the nation have turned to this tiny hamlet in western Pennsylvania...blah blah blah" (name that movie) Well, Obama has scheduled his fourth prime time news conference to air tonight at 8pm EST to address the nation on his top priority legislative agenda. Supposedly he will take ten questions from the audience (which will probably be staged like all the other ones).
I don't know about you, but I'm getting sick of seeing Obama on t.v. all the time defending his agenda (health care reform, cap and trade, etc.) You'd think that if his agenda was well accepted and would actually work to bring down costs like he says he wouldn't have to defend it all the time. I'll update after Obama blabbers on...
7.23.09 Update: I watched about 30 minutes of the press conference on my DVR last night. Yes only 30 of the 60 minutes...I just got so tired of Obama's rhetoric and blah blah blah blah...I couldn't understand anything that he was saying! Specific answers were not given. It's like were on the campaign trail again and he's just saying the same stuff over and over and over.
Probably the thing I hate most is his urgency of getting this health care reform through as quickly possible and him saying if we don't do this now such and such will happen...using scare tactics...just like he did with the stimulous package that isn't working by the way. SLOW DOWN OBAMA! DON'T YOU DARE TRY AND GET THIS PASSED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND WITHOUT HEALTHY DEBATE FROM ALL SIDES! LISTEN TO THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS....SLOW DOWN!
Even though he didn't say it, the reason why he's pushing this so hard and fast is because he knows that the more it is discussed, the more American's know about it, the more they will be against it. It's as simple as that.
